Project Geochemist, Geological Survey, Newfoundland and Labrador
The Newfoundland and Labrador Geological Survey will likely be seeking a Project Geochemist within the next few months. This is a professional scientific position, responsible for the systematic study, mapping, and interpretation of the surficial and environmental geochemistry of the province for application in mineral exploration, land use planning, and other uses. The Geological Survey is a fairly small (40 staff), but active group. We are located in easternmost Canada (St. John's), and offer an excellent working environment, opportunities for collaboration with our local university, the potential to develop your research interests, conference travel, as well as beautiful scenery, affordable housing, and warm, friendly people. Project Geologist -- South America -- Uranium, Blue Sky Uranium Corporation
Blue Sky Uranium Corporation is a Vancouver-based junior exploration company engaged in the exploration, assessment and development of uranium deposits in South America. We currently seek a Project Geologist to join an exploration program in central Argentina where significant showings of uranium have been detected. Management of geological databases, including plotting of maps and cross-sections, analysis of spectrometer and geochemical data and the mapping and interpretation of of geological features of sedimentary-hosted uranium mineralization are envisioned tasks. Computer expertise, especially with mapping software (such as MapInfo),is essential. Spanish language skills are critical, as this appointment will require extended periods of fieldwork in Argentina. Th Project geologist will work with field exploration teams under the direction of Argentina's most reknown uranium geologist.
